spent the weekend at my friend's get-away property,
which includes a nice ~3acre bass pond.

pictured above are a Berkley 'Curt Gowdy' PG40-8 8'0" 7wt.
and a Garcia 2535-B 6'6" 6wt. Both are great rods for this type of fishing.
The PG is especially nice, casting out loads of line effortlessly.
Both rods were paired with a couple of Martins: 67SSa and MG-3SS.

It was fun-filled Independence Day festivities,
that included camping, hanging out with good friends, swimming, boating, picnic-ing;
and a little fishing.

The fish weren't as cooperative as they had been so far this year,
but managed to catch a few like this one:
