They work good on bass too!
I tie mine with Congo Hair from Fly Tyers Dungeon, a lot cheaper than Puglisi fibers but seems to be very similar. Waynebh |

Hi PeteStiles;
I basically followed Joe Cornwall's(Cornmuse on this site) directions from the fly fish ohio podcast: http://www.flyfishohio.com/Puglisi_Baitfish.htm I used Congo Hair from Fly Tyers Dungeon, an online supplier. I use mono tying thread, a size 6 Mustad 37187 stinger hook, tie only on the front third of the hook. First I tie a small hank of chartreuse angel hair to thr front third of the hook about 1 1/2 shnak lengths for flash. Then several layers of white congo hair tied high style top and bottom. When the front third of the hook shank has about 1/8" of space left, I tie charteuse congo hair on top almost full lenght of the pattern and fold it over on top of itself. Then I turn the hook over and tie a short length of yellow congo hair for breast area, again tied back on itself. Then whip finish and coat head area with super glue. Self adhesive eyes are attached to side of body with goop. If you watch the Fly Fish Ohio podcast this will make more sense. This style of tying is done very sparsley, each bunch of hair composes about twenty fibers, it just takes a little practice to get the right amount. Wayneb |
