It was a pre-requisite that I learn to fly fish before marrying into my wife's family, which has fly-fished for generations.
With 3 young children now, we don't fish together too often unfortunately. But when we do, after 30 minutes without a strike or fish, she's typically put her rod down and is birding with her binoculars in hand.
That said, most of her fishing needs are met with an early Orvis Far & Fine 5 wt and a Scott F-703/2. Yeah, I been known to borrow "her" rods on occasion.
