Corlay, you're right - it doesn't really matter, but to answer your question, at first I thought it was a just too stiff, but I think I just had to get use to its unique action. Having never cast one of Ed's rods before, I guess I was thinking that it might be similar to the FF60 which can make extremely short casts with its soft tip. Ed's rod is however, a different animal - a special purpose rod that can really flick out a fly with authority, but one that is challenged with very short casts, at least in my hand. It is definitely fast for fiberglass. Although I normally use a long rod for spring creeks, I think I can see how it could be a very useful rod on a spring creek like the Letort where stealth and pinpoint accuracy is critical. (Not that I know a thing about the Letort, having fished it only once, badly, many years ago.) Ed wrote in his first book that these "teeny-tiny" rods should "be flexible; the shaft should work crisply, almost down to the handle. A slow "wet noodle" type of action should be avoided ...". This one certainly isn't a wet noodle. (I have been casting it with a DT4 - cut in half.)
