i am going to jack's place this am, prefishing. will let you guys know what i find out!!

Barry, your right about the flow. When I got there this am, it was still higher than normal. I paddled all the way down past the 2 bends in the river. Way down there. When I passed by the hole, that I beat everyone to, I could see hundreds of fish, by the pipe. Carp, catfish, drum, sand bass, bass, red breat sunfish, and gar. The water was so clear, it was like I was looking into an aquarium. There was more fish there than the tank at Bass Pro!! It was amazing!! I sort of spooked the fish as I drifted by, so I went on down stream, and my plan was to paddle back up later, get out of the yak, then hit em hard on the way back. I only caught one smallie, when I went way down stream. I did see one really cool thing. I kept seeing fish hitting on top, and big ones, too. As I got closer, I realized it was carp, sipping little flies off of the surface of the water. If I would have had one blue winged olive, it would have been money!!! But I didn't. I tried a gurgler, but no luck. Man it sure was pretty down there, and deep too, especially along those big boulders.



So I eat my lunch, while floating around, and head back to the hole, to have all by myself!!! Bingo!!!! I must have been in smallmouth heaven!!! Nothing real big, but great action on my Fenwick, throwing a gray cats whisker. Oh those flies work so well, on this stretch of water. Millions of those baby minnows, being chased by the smallies. Caught about 10, including one sandie, before moving up to the riffles, by Jack's place, where I pick up a few more.








They have made some improvements to the place. We now have a lighted bar, where the weed whack a rita machine goes, and a lighted horseshoe course, two of them, so we can throw shoes all night long, for money!!



I also noticed that there has been a population explosion down there. Probably up to 20 travel trailers down there now!!



It's going to be nice down there in October. Leaves are starting to fall, water is cool, squirrels running around gathering up nuts, which are falling from the trees, and there are fewer cows for Les to have to worry about. LOL!!

went back down to mcrary's. with my wife tagging along, and tried the area above the ramp. was not near as good, and the water still looks great. The weeds will be a problem for anyone who wants to wade. They are thick this year!! But, if you find pockets if water without a lot of weeds, add some depth, and current, your in business.



This was our best moment of the day, when I told her this was going to be s ahort trip.

This is her beating me back to the truck. All i had to do was say, "Are you ready to go?", and off she went!!

awesome barry, thanks!!! fish fry it is for friday night!!! i thought that we might have a smoked turkey for saturday night, what do you guys think?? i don't mind getting the grub together, and being the camp #@$&*, but will need help for the costs. can't wait to go.
