I've been using an 8'6" #6 JET with either a DT6 or WF7. It's a good rod. I'm sure it would toss a salmonfly (the insect) too. I was interested in reading about how the 9' JET just doesn't do as well. Bummer, but glad I saw that because I was thinking of getting one. Of all the modern glass makers, South Fork is the only one I've seen with a 9 footer...though it's a 5wt. For out west, I use a 9' #6 T&T LPS. Good rod. If you have the means, the T&T Paradigm would be hard to beat. It's very smooth and powerful. Those Paradigms are about the only high end graphite rods I can think of that may actually be worth the price.
