I spent the last few days in Rapid City, SD. My wife had a seminar she had to attend for work. I found some time to fish the streams around the city. I got to Spring Creek w/ less than 30 minutes till dark. There was a few caddis coming off. I managed 2 fish on the "Duet" rod in the 7'3" length . I found Rapid creek the next morning. As soon as I got there, the skies opened up. A nice gully washer turned the creek to chocolate milk. I fished it the next day.Water was clear, but the sky was dark and nasty again. I rigged up and fished the first nice run next to the parking area.

I managed three fish incuding this 19" rainbow. After about 20 minutes, the rains came again. So in three days,I fished about 45 minutes and got 5 fish. The rod handled great in the shorter length and the fish felt great on it. All fish were caught on dries. I plan on hitting this area and try to spend more time on these two creeks.
