The small mouth bass stories from other fisherman during the early months of the year have been nothing but great. Those early months were Feb-March. But I was wondering if any of yall have been down there during this time of year? Ya, I know its hot but would it be worth a trip? Thanx for the info.............Ray............

With more people hitting the river the last few years the fish have gotten pretty selective around the state park area. I have been always told Feb is the best month for the bronzebacks, but I have had great times right in the middle of August. If you float all the way to the lake you will run into some big boys that are not near as wise and selective. I will tell you they will turn off if the water is dirty from higher flows and heavy rains. Besides that you should be fine. The Devil's is a rough trip but worth it. My favorite river in Texas! TW
