A buddy had one given to him. Costa Mesa built. It's a staggered ferrule. It feels good and looks to be at least a 6w. I left it at work but I'll bring
it home and take some pictures of it. Metal ferrules with an o ring. Is anyone familar with this model?

That depends. Is it an 8'6" rod also marked "Magnum"? Or is it a 7'9" rod that also has another ferrule hidden in the end of the
grip, with a VERY long tip section?

Here's some pictures Tom. It is a Magnum. The tip is 66" long, while the butt section is 37½" long. That's staggered! I did find some more
information on the Wiki. What's something like this worth?

That is one of the last Pacific Laminates made Silaflex rods. They gave the models names just before Browning bought the rod building business from Pacific
Laminates. The Magnum rods were built for power with a very tip oriented action. I didn't realize they had staggered ferrule designs too.
I'm going to guess it is worth somewhere in the $50-75 range. Tom |
