The sliding rings are sold separately by the pair, in either aluminum or graphite. They are considerably wider than the sliding rings used on UL fly rods. Get a pair whose ID matches the OD of the grip you choose. Some of the straight (Tennessee) grips are supplied as one piece and will have to be cut in half to install (remember to put the rings on BEFORE you glue the grip to the rod!). Most of the suppliers will stock both the grips and the rings. For a small stream rod (6-7 ft.), you probably won't need more than an 8" grip. You might want to consider building the rod as a spinner rather than a fly rod - it will work a LOT better with the spinning reel, and won't hurt performance with a fly line. Best of luck!
