I been fishing my Fenwicks and the new Silaflex a lot lately so I decided to take my brook trout rod, a 6.5ft Lami honey 3wt rigged with a Ryobi Hardy clone
and fish for the redbreast in a local river last evening. I love the full spawning colors of these fish and they readily take a popper.
The river is full of them and I caught plenty, but after catching a bunch of juvenile smallies mixed in, I put on a bigger popper and this what ensued.....

Did I mention that I really like this rod and reel? !!! I waved this girl over that was running by the river on a trail in her sports bra and spandex shorty shorts and ask her to take my picture with this fish. I think she liked my cool hat! HA HA !! A great evening trip!!
