Hi everyone. I just found this site and logged on with my account from a Yuku marble collectors site, which is another of my afflictions. I've been fly
fishing for 12 years or so(I'm in my latter 30's), formerly in PA limestone country and have been fishing almost exclusively glass for well over half
of that. I didn't fish at all last year and only a handfull of times the previous year, but recently bought a Cortland outfit at a flea market and have
the collectors bug again. The reel cleaned up nicely and looks brand new and will be going on an unfished, metal ferruled St. Croix 8foot 6wt. The Cortland
rod, I still need to clean up to decide if I like it. I think it has gold foil under the guides if I remember correctly, anyways I bought it for the reel and
think I paid 10 or 15 bucks for the outfit. The rod I fish most is a newer(Taiwan) Fenwick 8.5 foot 6wt with any number of reels depending on how I'm
feeling. LOL. Its a great nymphing rod, IMHO. I've been rooting through the closet and pulling out some goodies and have the fever again. I mostly like
to find stuff in the wild, I've bought from Ebay before but its been a few years. I love finding mint rods at flea markets and yardsales for 5 or 10
bucks. Anyhew, I just wanted to say hello. I'm going to do some reading and perhaps I'll snap some photos in the near future. I need to track down
some DT peach 444 for this Cortland reel, I figured there would be old stock all over Ebay, but I guess not. Also got the tying bench all cleaned up and
itching to tie. I really enjoy tying and fishing classic wets. Mainly from Helen Shaw's book.
Anyways, what a great resource. I'm happy to be aboard. I remember Clark's classic rod board, I think that's right, and I think I bought a 3piece lamiglass 7.5 4wt from him 7-8 years ago, but never anything like this. So Kudos on the site. I look forward to seeing everyone around and maybe joining in.
P.S. sorry about the avatar, its a goofy marble site thing, the thing in my hand is a Marbo-gun. Nevermind. LOL.
