Since our recent poll suggests that we are not all adverse to graphite, I thought I'd share a rod I recently acquired. It's an 8' graphite Russ
Peak in a very Sage-like brown which might be unusual since I've only seen the gray/black ones.
If I didn't know, I would think it was fiberglass as it has all the smooth full flexing characteristics of a great glass rod but with the added advantage of being feather light. It handles its designated three, four and five line weights with equal ability, slowing down only slightly with each increase in line weight. It is so versatile in fact that you would think it was designed specifically for whatever line you were casting. I cannot compare it to any other rod I've ever tried and it make me think Mr. Peak was just as much a genius with graphite as he is acknowledged to have been with glass.
I can find very little about Russ Peak's graphite production and was wondering if anybody could fill in some information ... Richard?
