I posted this over onyour sibling bamboo site and it was suggested that I should ask the question to people that actually fish fiberglass. I have two
late 60s Fenwick flyrods that I would like to pass on to someone that can use them and want a ball park figure before posting them. These are high
production rods so I am not expecting much but they are in nice shape and still have a lot of trout, gills, and bass in them.
1. A FF806 (2/1 8' 6wt) in great shape with original sock and tube. The tube is dirty and a bit bent but otherwise the outfit is excellent +.
2. A FF866-05 (I think). Now don't get excited. This is not the $200 collectable. It is a 8.5 ft 5 piece kit rod. The blank is not marked with a weight but acts like a 6 wt (although some people have described it as a 7 wt). The blank is marked as a Fenwick. The build job is okay but not perfect and the grip is pretty clean. The rod comes without a sock or tube so the rod is a little scratched up. Overall a nice travel rod if you are into glass.
Anyone know what I should be asking for them? They have sat unused in my garage for decades and I would rather they get their excercise.
