I have a couple rods that I am slowly working on restoring, and one of them is fine except that it is missing one guide. Nothing I see in my catalogs looks like it would look good with the rest of the guides... they are small, light wire snake guides with a dark steel color. Any suggestions? Also what about stripping guides of a similar color? Thanks. -RC

You might find just what you are looking for on there. Speaking of used guides. I know of a couple cane builders who dig around and find agate guided from old rods and clean them up and use them on their new cane. Gives their new rod that classic look. I would rather go with Arcane agate, myself. Or Snakebrand, though I think Arcane are better quality.
