Has anyone on the forum built or used a rod with a ventilated cork grip such as was used on some of the Young cane rods? Any pros or cons on their usability
would be appreciated.
Thanks, winglas

I believe there were a couple Walton Powell (?) rods with ventilated grips on the auction site recently. It appeared to me that they were intended to minimize
slippage during casting. Personally, I don't think there would be any significant benefit other than aesthetic, they do look kind of cool. In my opinion
the biggest problem with most sporting activity grips, like racquet sports, is that they are made too small in diameter. If you are looking for an improved
grip try a larger diameter before adding the grooves. If it's about the looks then I say give it a go.
