Watch for em guys they are out their!!!
Both rods came in minty tubes and socks
I love these blued ferrules, the guides were all blued too
Love the very early spiral wraps too
Note the hand written script on this first model very early production 1953
Note the earlier ring style bamboo hook keeper
Cork half reel seat, one of the earliest Ive ever seen
Really a neat seat, I like that green threaded area I picked a vintage Ocean City reel that balanced it perfectly,
The rod weighs 3.1 ounces.
Says 25% Nylon, have no idea what thats about, Johnsons book says a minor amount used
to plasticize the resin.
1954 model decal from regular production model this is the one Im fishing now, while it was mint and never
had a reel mounted it has now and is gonna be one of my major winter rods
Really a great reel seat design
Great hand filling grip too
Ok my little Ocean City green 76 silent drag, Im fishing an Orvis wonderline first generation DT3floating,
one of flygoddess's 3-4wt 5ft sinking furrled tappered leaders with a 2 1/2ft 3# tippet and a size 28 nymph
Im dealing with about 5 to 6ft of water depth right now so its a perfect combo
Ok guys heres one for you to look for seriously before the Japanese here about
it.
Richard
