the Silaflex label, partially missing. The surrounding writing is illegible to me. I'm not sure if this rod is a custom job from a blank, or whether it was part of the Silaflex line at one time.
The handle is that foam material that they sometimes used. Unfortunately, someone improvised a hook keeper with an eyed screw, into the side of the metal winding check.
Anyone recognize the decal on the reel seat?
All of the guides are ring guides.
The last one before the tip-top is crimped, but it appears to me as if it was done before the rod was wrapped.
The tip-top is more like one for a spinning rod than a simple loop. It isn't oversize for the rod tip, though.
Verdict: a fairly nice full-flexing light-line rod! Usable with a 4-weight and just barely manages to load off of the tip with a 4, but it doesn't really get its wind until you sling it with a 5-weight. Will also throw a 6 weight.
