Interesting article. Bill and I joined, what I think was the second TU chapter that same year in Pittsburgh. I think they later came to call themselves the Pennswoods Chapter. I remember the gathering was an introductory banquet, with fresh Atlantic salmon served as one of the entree items. It was an expensive undertaking, $50 if I remember right, but that got you a ground floor membership. We stayed with TU off and on from then to the present, but have gone several years without a memberships and have never felt bound to it. No question they have done all of us well, but some of the local efforts are often a little overzealous. All that is a totally different subject, though, just a memory I brought along and have passed along.

Lots of history in fly fishing. More of it shared here than most places. I like that aspect of this group.
