Heddon Viscount Deluxe 7' #7155
The business end of this rod is in outstanding shape. I'm crazy about the black finish
Note that "Viscount" is clearly misspelled... guess I own a "Vicount..."
The gold color with some irridescence is oddball but works well with the common pale yellow and chocolate Heddon wrap (the finish looks just like one of Pactra's or Testor's old model paints! Guess that dates me...).
This is a rod for fishing, not collecting- the condition is overall very good but it's missing a dozen wraps on the bottom end of the stripper
Matched with a period Garcia 301 it's got the all-black "Adam Cartwright" Bonanza look (hey, I'm stuck in the 60's- could be worse-)
I want to fish it with a vintage lure for the first few casts, at least... but how to decide?
Maybe this fellow released back in June will still be hungry
If Cameron behaves himself, he can fish it too when his family joins us next week on the island.
