Once I placed the postage on that package, I slipped it into an envelope with his mailing address and placed the proper postage on that "outside" envelope. Hope that works OK. Lou

FYI this is the first fly swap I have ever participated in. I rarely have time to tie flies with my other work. The flies for our swap were originally tied at a S.R.A.A. meeting last Thursday night. Friday I caught a 26" Brown Trout On the Farmington River with one of the rejects ,I would have been embarrassed to ship . The 2 guys that were fishing with me saw me tie them the night before at the meeting. One of the members commented while I was tying them that he bet that just the bodies would take fish. I hope you all have as good of luck with them as I have. I have been tying and fishing this pattern nearly 40 years and have caught more fish on it than any other pattern. This fly has been passed down 4 generations of Fly Fisherman in my Family soon to be 5 when we get my Grandson off the spinning rod next season. We all ready got him started casting this year at age 5. Next time I won't forget the return shipping oops ! Master Guide Posts: 126 (10/17/08 07:11:29) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	One of my favorite Caddis flies: Thread - Olive Rib - Grizzly Hackle Open Palmered Body - Light Olive Floss or Olive Dubbing Wing - Lemon Wood Duck over which a Pair of Matching Mallard Wing Segments are tied - All Downwing Hackle - Brown or Ginger It's pretty basic - my only suggestions are: 1. Put a light coat of lacquer on the underside of the Mallard Quills before cutting the segments. Keeps things together when cutting and tying. 2. I'll tie my midges in the am, cause the weather sucks here, and I can't go fish!!! Had the pleasure of tying, casting, eating, and watching Bob Clouser's presentation yesterday. What a great guy, guide, and friend. The 2 hours I spent tying with him, was a great experience, and will greatly help the look, and presentation of my flies. Also got an hour of casting instructions with him, and the rest of the club. I got so excited about his flies, I tied up a few, and will try them out in the am. Do have good and bad news. Good news is I bought his new book. Bad news is I left it laying around, and my wife nabbed it, and wrapped it up for a Christmas present. Guys, if you buy stuff for yourself this time of year, don't leave it laying around, or this may happen to you!!

The pattern is tied just like a regular clouser, but Bob says this on is a killer for carp!!! The materials are krystal flash, flashaboo, and hairs from a red fox tail, thus the name of the closuer, the red fox clouser. Start with tying on the eys, and then the lighter hairs of the red fox tail, the yellowish, light brown hairs. Then add all of the flash you want, turn the fly over, and add the darker, rustic colrs of the red fox tail, to finish the clouser. Easy to tie.
