Today I found a southbend classice 3 series flyrod in my garage. I believe it to be my great grandpa's. Now this rod is very unique. It's short at only
7 and1/2ft but it feels like an 8wt. The guides on it seems to be bery thick as well. It also has a flat spot on the cork to put your thumb when casting. I
can't read the label on it. The only thing it says is South Bend Classic 3, aside that it says Action Tested. I'm just wondering about when these were
made and why there so short and heavy. Here's a couple pics.
