I will try my best to add some value to this post. I have a one of each. Both are 5/6 weight, and I use both for trout fishing.

Pro-Crest 8' Model 1-620-1 5/6 3.5 OZ
Very standard plain metal reel seet in a brown color, downlocking, one ring. Metal winding check, has a hook keeper. Ugly (my opinion) color blank. I think they were trying for light caramel, but ended up babyshit brown. Butt has stripper and one snake, tip has 6 snakes and a tip, thread is a little darker than the blank, and wraps have an open spiral. Ferrules are glass, tip over butt with a wooden plug in the male end. Cork is not high quality, with plenty of holes. On my Pro-Crest the guides do not line up perfectly. Otherwise, workmanship is great.

FR-2000 7.5' Model 1-625-1 5/6 3.5 OZ
Very standard brown metal downlocking reel seat with 2 locking rings (which I like). Metal winding check, has a hook keeper . Nice looking brownish/red wine colored blank with a ;ittle translucence. Butt has ceramic insert stripper and one snake, tip has 6 snakes and a tip. Wraps are brown thread that has a little bit of translucene; you can see the foot of the guide through the thread. No open spiral, white trim. Glass ferrule, tip over butt with a wooden plug in the male end. Same average cork as Pro-Crest.

Both rods are very nice, light trout rods. The Pro-Crest is a little slower. Both throw a 5 WF great. The FR-2000 handles a 6 WF fine. The Pro-Crest borders on overload with a 6 WF. I have had a Pflueger Medalist 1494 and 1494 1/2 on both rods. 1494 is too light. 1494 1/2 is a tad light for the 8' Pro-Crest. 1495 is probably the reel for the Pro-Crest, but I have not tried it yet. Both roll cast well. Cofisher cast the Pro-Crest, and liked it. He also felt the 6 WF was a bit of an overload. Actually, once he planted that idea in my head, I decided he was right! Of the two, I like the FR-2000 better, but not by much. I don't know if they were made during the same time period or not, but I suspect the FR-2000 is newer. I wish the FR-2000 was an 8 footer, for a little more line control, but it is a small matter. I was lucky with a good buy on both. The FR-2000 are usually more expensive. These are the only glass rods I have in this weight class. I have cast a 7.5 foot 5W Fenwick, and would say these compare pretty closely to that rod.
