i'm from holland michigan but there is nothing worth fishing for trout within about 35-40 minutes. the closest trout streams are small streams that support
browns, rainbows and some brook trout. i fish a larger river north of grand rapids called the rogue and i usually have at least a trip to the jordan river area
to fish the jordan and the small streams there every year.
A true dry fly isn't dry at all. |

I grew up at Thayer Lake, Alaska as my brothers and I worked with my parents there, running a small wilderness lodge, which they
started in 1947. I now live part-time in Juneau and part-time in the Angoon area. All my fishing is on light gear, and my favorite areas are the many small lakes and streams on Admiralty Island, catching small native Cutthrout & Dolly vardin trout. This website is a real blessing,,, it's great to see others fishing with fly rods that can be purchased at very little cost, and spending their time doing what they love. |

I now live in Charlottesville, VA where I just moved from Juneau, Alaska. Funny seeing your posting right above mine killisnoo- I sure miss hitting the searun
dollie fishing when DIPAC released all the fry. Enjoy the weather for me...
I now spend my fishing time exploring the Shenandoah National Park. I'm learning to appreciate the smaller things in life....like the trout- I do love it up there fishing those bluelines though. |

I live in Belgrade, Montana. I consider the Gallatin River my home water but spend a lot of time fishing around MT, Yellowstone, and the occasional trip to
Idaho. I like slower rods and right now there seems to be more affordable options in glass than anything else.

Yeah, I've already seen all the talk about guys wanting to "reduce their inventory of rods" at the fall Glassic. It seems the most popular
saying is "bring lots of money"
Oh well, it's just my kids college education at stake. No biggie. BTW, thanks for inviting me.

MTfish,
Welcome to the Fiberglass Flyrodders! You are certainly correct about the slower options available in fiberglass. Check out the Fiberglass Wiki for some of the options that are available. Hopefully the options will continue to grow. Tom |

I reside in Bend Oregon. I'm spoiled!I fish the Deschutes, Crooked, Fall and plan to fish the Metoulius this fall and winter, (Bull Trout). There are a few
ponds around to get my 2 wt. Bluegill and Crappie fix. I get to the N. Yuba once a year, the Feather when there is Salmon fishing (not this year), CA Delta
occasionally for Stripers and Largemouth.

I'm from Fircrest, WA (Tacoma) near the Narrows Bridge. Still fairly new to fly fishing , but can't stop thinking about it! I have fished the Nisqually River (Nisqually, WA) for Chum salmon. The Skookumchuck River (Tenino, WA) for Reds (Sockeye) and Steelhead. Currently on the Puyallup River (Puyallup, WA) for Pinks and Coho. My favorite spot is on the South Fork Snoqualmie River (North Bend, WA) for Rainbows and Cutts during summer. The river prettty much becomes a stream with large boulders. It becomes a dry fly fisherman's heaven. Take a 3 wt. and fish an elk hair caddis and you won't be disappointed. |

lourdios,
Bienvenue sur le Flyrodders Fiberglass! The rivers you fished in France look very nice. I hope you are fishing some good water in Canada also. When you began fly fishing twenty years ago, fiberglass fly rods were all but given up as old and irrelevant. Graphite and boron were the dominant materials and cane was just starting a revival. Now, good fiberglass is making a comeback This is a good time to get interested in fiberglass. Tom |
