I know Ron will probably have to pipe up on this one, but I am looking for a list of names to search ebay for a 3" or under Std Grade.

pick any UK catalog merchant from the 30s.
here's a couple:
2-1/2" JB Walker, 2-3/4" Modarcom Flysport, 3" A&N Stores Ltd., 3-1/2" MC Thornburn
You can get through them all in about 20 minutes and then it will take you 5 minutes every day to keep up with what's newly listed watch and snipe with lowball bids. Cameron bought a 2-1/2" Black Knight for $26 shipped. allcocks
and not just London, Redditch and Newcastle - there's a long list of Scots and Irish merchant marks on these reels

Which reel would work best on a 6'6 W&M Featherlight

the 2-1/2" reel will hold a Teeny first cast or SA Head Start WF6 - it won't hold a full-length WF6.
The 2-3/4" reel will hold a WF5 or a Teeny with more backing. The capacity of a 3" reel is pretty large - won't hold a DT, but will hold any WF. Weight on any of these is going to be pretty close, but the 3" will be noticeably heavier than the others. But, I would say any in this size would work. |

Nice, would I have any room for any backing with a Teeny First Cast WF5F on the 2.5"?

not a lot - 15-20 yds, probably.

Oh, ok...well, on these creeks, I won't need it anyway. If I do use some backing on one, it will probably be some of that tip up line you showed for
backing awhile back.

Question...is the measurement the spool diameter or the total diameter?

reels are always sized by the overall frame diameter and the inside width of the spool.
here's a 2-1/2" on a 6' Lami 5-wt. I bought from Old Yankee Rodsmiths
