Would sure like to see pictures of that rod, the fact that its a Master built on a 3M blank with Phillipson tip over Butt glass ferrule makes it unusual and very much of interest. It must a rod built late in the life of Phillipson, either after Bill bought it back from Johnson or even after or at the time he sold the company to 3M. The pictures will tell the tail Im sure. Im much interested though, trying to learn as much as possible about Phillipson's without the aid of a long string of catalogues. Did the rod come with the original Tube?

Thank you. I just got an email back from Rick's Rods verifying that after 1964, the Master was offered on the 3M Blank with the classic Tip Over Butt Phillipson Glass Ferrule

Your really lucky, thats the first Ive seen with that combination, I think they were only available for a very very short time frame. Outstanding Rod. Again thanks a big bunch, finding information about Phillipsons is about like pulling teeth sometimes.

I for sure hear you there, I have learned alot bout photo uploading etc from this site too. Look do make sure you post really good high res pictures of the ares of your rod that make it special. At least a dozen pictures, on ebay. Yours is a quite unusual rod. Posted right I dare say it might go over $400 if you accept PayPal and willing to ship overseas. I ship alot of stuff around the world, if you need help later getting it shipped anywhere don't be afraid to ask, I trans ship for several board members already at no handling cost, just to help out. Yours is a great rod, I highly suggest you keep it. In spring, when the fishing fingers itch, after taxes are paid and season is opening, I suspect you will get more. Also as seen recently, glass rods are really heating up in Value, that should continue, it is after all a limited supply and increasing demand for the really good ones like yours.
Im into Saltwater too, that rod might surpise you for coastal offshore if you want to give it a fare chance. But I do understand, it belongs in freshwater with some big bass on the other end. Again thanks alot for sharing the pictures, yours is the first Master with the 3M blank and tip over butt glass ferrule Ive ever seen.

First easy check would be to measure the guide spacing, Phillipson was pretty consistant with placing guides on similiar rods, they weren't into reinventing the wheel if they didn' t need to, what is your guide spacing tip to stripping guide assembled?
