Unless you're talking about the phone latch ones, Pflueger GEM's can be had for under $50 depending on condition. I think I saw a 2094 sell on ebay not
too long ago for about $15.

I love this reel, a splendid reel for 3 - 5wt line rods. I have seen them go for as little as $10 but as has already been stated the older brass footed(black
painted) and/or latch models are up there. Respectfully rvreclus

Narcodog, those were phone latch models. They are much rarer. You can get the more recent GEM's for much, much less. Sorry, but if you want a phone latch
model, that's what you're going to have to shell out. In fact, $150 isn't a bad price for a nice phone latch/black footed model.

they only made the horseshoe latch reels for two years. I just bought one outright for $195.
this reel was boxed 5/41 and I paid $15, but it needed a handle, which I replaced with OnePfoot part
the rods are never obsolete - the marketing is.

Thanks for clearing up my confusion. I did not notice the latch I just thought they were black footed. What would be a good price for just the BF model and
when were they made?
Has anyone ever written a book or a paper on old Pfluegers? |
