Will all you have to do is click twice on the back button on your brower. That takes you to the main page. Go to Wanted Fiberglass Flyrods.
Catch and Release fishing is a lot like golf. You don't have to eat the ball to have a good time. |

Well, I'm baffled. You can try going to the top of this page and above the previous page numbers on the left side and click on fiberglass flyrodders. That
will take you to the main page.

COFISHER,
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, just didn't have computer available. That is the Battenkill Multiplier I use and I think is an excellent fishing tool. Orvis also made a CFO Multiplier that was based on the Hardy Multiplier, but I was only ever able to get hold of one of those and ended up selling it. The CFO's were a little heavy for the lighter rods in my opinion, but these Battenkills will do the job and you can usually pick them up for a reasonable price. The lightweight Hardy multipliers are little harder to come by and can run $400 and up (but never know with ebay). I ended up buying mine in the European market since I think they were not marketed here in the beginning due to restrictions on partnership between Hardy and SA. Thats what I've heard anyway, but could be totally wrong. With value of dollar I really havn't been looking for any in about five years and not sure what going for now. Regards--Barry

All it has to day is it is 1 7/8 wide and 3 5/8 diameter . It has unknown fly line and I asked the owner who does not know anything more . Can anyone tel me
is this a 3/4 or a 5/6 etc by that information ?

I would lean more towards it being a 5/6. With those dimensions the inside of the spool is probably around 7/8" wide ina 3-5/8" frame. Plenty of room
for a 5 or 6 line. If you look at the line that is on it, you can see that there is quite a bit of backing behind it.

having a couple dozen English (young) made multipliers and a few Intrepid style reels as well, I think Im safe to say the pictured small Orvis multiplier is or
was made by BFR, as are or were the bulk of the Intrepid series of reels before Orvis bought BFR. All are fun reels with the single cavet of the special care
the teflon/nylon geared model requires.
As to the Hardy made mini Multiplier, its the only true 3/4wt I know of and as stated above is in excellent conditon showing up on ebay occasionally but has always been a pricey little reel, Ive never gotten one in that they are always going over $400 and up depending on condition and accessaries included. Nearly all the Young made reels (Young, Shakespeare, Young for Orvis, Young for Daiwa) reels were available in a 3 1/2 inch narrow spool, they are a bit harder to find but are perfect for 5/6wt applications. My favorite of this bunch is the Daiwa, it just is the smoothest Young made mutiplier I have. Same by the way holds true for the same series of reels as direct drive, the small Young made Daiwa is smoother than its Young and Young Shakespeare counterparts. The Speedex was made by Young by the way. If you can post a picture of the Gladding you have I will be happy to try and tell you which company made it. Richard |

Thabks Richard if you look at page one of this thread and the pictures posted by whielpool mine is just like the ultralight model pictured . It is a nice small
reel and about five and an half ounces. It has metal gears
