Hello everbosy, Had a great Sunday outing and pretty goo Tuesday as well. Went back to fish some different areas of SW Wisc. on Sunday, hit four streams,
caught fish in two of them.Started out on one stream along a highway, caught 10 Browns and 2 Brookies all on a black and olive leech pattern and the much
talked about Pink Squirrel.Fished that stream until I could not get through the brush, than it was time to move on. Moved to another well known stream, there
were a couple fellas fishing there, I went down stream, saw alot of Browns, some really nice ones but the corn was at my back and I was having a hell of a time
getting my casts off, I packed it up and went on to the next spot.
The next spot was amazing, I fished through it's many pools and runs and caught alot of fish(I wasn't at a trout farm!) again I was fishing the leech,
wooly bugger and the Pink Squirrel.I caught the wildest looking Brown of my life, the tail had this beautiful red color anlong the edges, just stunning..caught
a good number of fish from this stream, 30 or so..On to the next spot. out in cow pasture, I was a nice little stream saw alot of fish but was unable to get
them to hit any of the patterns I was tossing at them
It was a great day, probably my single best trout fishing day ever.Of course I was fishing the 7 ft 4 wt Diamondglass, Love this rod itdoes everything it's
asked to do.. well for me anayway.
Tuesday I was off of work thought I'd go back north and fish BlackEarth Creek, I have not fished there scince 1993!!! (I don't get up there that
often). Tried a couple spots that were recomended, no luck so I went into Cross Plains and fished the sections that flow thorugh town, had a semi good time,
caught three lost three, one was aroung 14-16 inchesa Brown, jumped and threw the wooley bugger, dang barbless hooks!!!!! I'm looking forwar to going up
one more time befor the end of the season.Fishing in Black Earth I was using one of McFarland graphite (oh no!!) rods boughtfrom him on this forum 2 or 3 years
ago, the "perfect Trout" rod, 8'3" 4/5 I fished it with a four and the rod was wonderful, true med action, helped alot with all the
vegitaion on the banks.I really need to get out of Illinois being up there or anywhere on the water is good for the soul, rythym of casting, the sounds of
water running..I NEED that alot!!!!
