I assumed that was the protocol, but I never know if I'm working the weekend or not. Flexible hours during the week means flexible hours over the weekend
too.

However, you could stop by and do a little cooking and cleaning. (LMAO) Larry Looking forward to seeing you and Kurt tomorrow. Not to worry about the Weedwackarita machine, I have a mechanic come by every week to make sure it's in tip-top condition. (LOL) Hey Gene Don't these people realize that you and I are retired and on a fixed income and depend on the sales we are able to make at these events to feed our families? You, Mi Amigo, are a sick, sick, little man. However, I like that in a person! (LMAO) Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he'll just kill you. |

From Barry last Fall:
Below are a couple of suggestions on getting to McCreary's. The GPS co-ords to the front gate is N31 47.652 W97 18.245 If you're coming in on 35, get off at exit 359. That should put you going west on ranch road 1304 (stay on 1304 till you get to McCreary's gate). From the 35 exit to McCreary's front gate it's 14.7 miles and the gate will be on your right side. Are we there yet???

I think that TPW is making plans for this event also; I think everybody has to go thru a dip vat before being allowed on the water; kinda like Mexican
cattle!!!!!!

Just a thought: we need rain for Whitney or else we need to consider re-locating this event to the Red river. The hill country is low and the Perd which had
good water flows in may is down low.
Bud mentioned that here recently the Brazos' water is like a stagnant cess-pool down at McCrary's. Let's stay ahead of this. Les |

Hey Guys
IMO it might not be a bad idea to have a back-up plan, but I wouldn't rule out McCrareys (sp?) just yet. As those of us that have fished that area know....the condition of the river is directly Dependant of the release rates from the Dam. That can be monitored at this link http://waterdata.usgs.gov/tx/nwis/uv?dd_cd=01&format=html&period=14&site_no=08093100 I checked it this morning and saw that they've had some good releases this past week so I'm thinking the river should be flushed out by now. Who knows what it'll be like for the Glassic? We've still got over 5 weeks till the "Grand Event" and a lot can happen in that time period, so let's not go into the panic mode just yet. Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he'll just kill you. |

Apparently they have increased releases due to contracts with downstream users......The lake has gone down considerably....too bad, the marinas and other
businesses that depend on the lake are hurting.....anyway, seems to be a lot more water moving down the river.....by the fall it shouldn't be much of a
problem.

maybe we should come up with different activities, instead of a different location?? we could have olympic games, like:
who can cast the farthest after drinkin barry's margarita's who can wade across the river the fastest after drinkin barry's margarita's who can climb a tree the highest after drinking barry's margarita's who can jump their truck over the brazos river, aka evel kneivel, after drinking barry's margarita's who cooks the best meat on the orion cooker, WHILE drinking barry's margarita's who will forget where they placed their tent poles, after drinking barry's margarita's these are just a few, and i can think of more!! Fly fishing is not the only part of the adventure!!
