First let me say that I'm blown away by the work that some of you guys do, and that I'm posting my rod here not because of the quality of the build but
because it's my second Riffle and I think they're fantastic rods.
This one was built up using Phil's slide ring reel seat with a cherry burl insert, a $14 grip that started life as a reverse half-wells from Barlows Tackle that I turned into a modified cigar (because I was out of cork rings), Pac Bay single-foot guides, and very plain Candy Apple Red wraps. I finished the wraps with two light coats of Klass Koat that I got from Don (zenkoanhead).
Like I said it's not in the same class as the amazing rods that some of you put together, but dang it's a fun little rod. This is my second 'glass build (the first was a 5'10" Riffle 3/4), but it's my 16th build counting all the graphite rods I've wrapped over the years. I definitely think the 'glass rods are cool yet at the same time I continue to fish my graphites and my single cane rod along with the 'glass.
Thanks for looking!
It looks better with a fish on :-)
