I've been waiting for a chance to test the D Glass 8 footer (4wt) I recently built, especially as it's been years since I last put a rod together.
This one came out nicely by the way, except that my vision of deep emerald silk windings tipped with black took a nosedive when the FlexCoat was applied and
immediately turned the green silk on the black rod as dark in color as a black hole where no light can escape from. So only I know that there is an elegant
color scheme to the windings, while the outside world would probably think they were just black. At any rate, I ended up fishing the creek that runs through
town where it goes by the golf course (evening Sunday picnics were going on at the first few turnouts I tried). The rod is a winner: it casts a wet fly and
good-sized dries very nicely. DT4 is a good line for it. Roll casts were very easy and the rod cast an accurate and soft line. I happened on several browns and
rainbows up to 12" the biggest, and they were a lot of fun on this rod. So my review of this rod (that you can't likely find anymore) is quite
positive, and illustrates once again that if you find something that works well you had better buy several, because it is likely that They will soon stop
making it.
