Sorry, there's apparently some software that does not allow a term for a female dog to be posted.

Looks like a %#%%* Creek without the hackle.
Catch and Release fishing is a lot like golf. You don't have to eat the ball to have a good time. |

Sorry about that. The Yuku software has a profanity filter that automatically edits out a broad selection of "nasty" words. There are an odd few
that get through, but not many. It doesn't take kindly to junglecock as two words either.
Your fly looks like a simpler version of the b i t c h creek nymph. Usually they have some brown hackle wound around the shank too. Tom |

Yes, a B Creek nymph. One of the most effective large nymphs ever, right up there with a black wooly worm, which simulates a similar range of large nymphs.
Stone fly country, a rocky bank, a little bit of current. Toss one out, and if he's there, a brown trout will pound it. They can't resist it. The
fly's namesake, B Creek, by the way, was Joe Brooks favorite trout stream. In 1974, I got a flat tire on a sharp rock on the dirt road up along it. There
was a good looking run right handy, so putting on the spare could wait. Three fat browns 16" to 18" couldn't wait more than a split second after
I chunked one into a little foamy pool where I spied stonefly casings all over the rocks surrounding it. Bass like them also, but I rarely fish them in water
that contains both browns and smallmouths, as the bass usually get there first, the brown trout being a little more deliberate before he decides to slaughter a
big ugly black fly.
