My brother is coming down this weekend and I'd like to take him out for some big suckers when the sun is still high in the sky. Somebody told me to use a chartruese egg pattern. Is this accurate? Any other suggestions?

The ratio of suckers to trout is such that it's clear to me that suckers are far warier than trout. Almost all my suckers have come on egg patterns, specifically trout beads, fished dead drift. My home water, a spring creek, here in OH is the Mad River and in all the years I've fished it with nymphs, dries, and streamers I've only caught 2 suckers and they were both foul hooked. And there's a sizable population there. On the other hand, on Thorn Creek in WV I routinely catch suckers and native brookies both on dries and nymphs. Go figure.
