Another choice used for alot of years is to fabricate a piece of wood dowl, I prefer solid fiberglass myself, from fishing rod blanks, to a size to fit your reel seat perfectly, leaving enough on the end (say about 3 inchs) that can then be made to fit into the butt section of the rod blank like a spigot ferrule (yes this means you will need to cut back the blank at the butt the length of your reel seat, many many glass rod makers have done this for years to fit their selected reel seat.
The nice thing about the larger solid fiberglass rod blanks, (I use them all the time to cut out spigot sections) is that you can get a perfect fit into your Lami butt section then turn down the amount you need to fit your reel seat with a file and even a carefully held drill motor.
Im assuming your talking about having an existing wood insert reel you want to use. their are wood reel seat makers that do produce large bore seats, but if memory serves most stop around .500 ID, the older Lami Blanks that have been showing up on Ebay were mostly used with Solid Aluminum seats which are still available from such locations like Janns and Mudhole. I picked up a couple of those blanks recently as well and plan on going with the vintage aluminum reel seat, just because for me they have always proven foolproof and I like the looks of them anyway for a vintage rod.
