I think too much! |

Lately I've been thinking about trying some spey casting/fishing. I've looked all over but can't find any fiberglass spey rods. Does anyone know of
an outlet for glass spey rods? I'm sure some of the originals from the Spey River were fiberglass. With my wading abilities rapidly diminishing, I think
this type of fishing will allow me to reach some of those harder to reach pools and runs.
Thanks ahead,

Joe -
Occasionally there will be some nice glass two handy rods for sale on eBay UK, and they usually don't bring that much but shipping is a killer I'll keep an eye out and shoot you a PM if I find anything. Do you have a preference of length and line weight ?
Something to consider: Be willing to share photos, information and the knowledge you have about your collection with anyone that has an interest in learning...........also share your knowledge to answer questions that others may have about items in their collections.........doing this will make you feel good and benefits this community ..................after all, what good is having knowledge that isn't shared. Heh Joe don't overlook the 12'6" - 13' Bruce&Walkers. They are a fine glass rod and once you've been able to get some casts under
your belt they will fit just fine!!!!!

Joe,
I don't know anything about spey rods, but I wanted to say that I have the same problem.... I find that I think too much and end up buying fishing stuff, too. It's inversely proportional to how much time I actually get to spend fishing. I'm trying to convince my wife of this truth. "The more time I spend fishing, the less fishing junk I end up buying. Therefore, I should spend more time fishing." So far, she hasn't bought it. Eric Use the Fly, Luke! |

Lotech Joe...I've experienced the same dilemma and it was suggested to me that graphite is a better match for learning these casts. I ended up ordering a
13'3" eight weight two hander from ECHO. It is the Dec Hogan model. Medium action and really a lot of fun to cast with the Skagit head system that I
have for it.
I'm using mine to chase striper in the Saluda River with. I haven't put a fish on it yet...but hopefully soon! |

Hey I have a 15ft Actonrod spey rod!!!!
Actually, it is a telescoping thing, with five, five foot sections, and not a spey rod, but really cool. Deals well with a 9wt, and I am gonna find a use for it someday. Just a little flip and I've lobbed a big fly 40ft. Hmmm. Keith |
