I've got a 'non-glare tan' Riffle blank to wrap,
and am having trouble deciding on thread color(s).
I'm just more accustomed picking colors for a traditional tabacco (or darker) fiberglass blank.
I have a bunch of thread colors on-hand, and started doing some test wraps and finish last night.
The problem is, there wasn't one color that stood-out among the rest, where I immediately said: "That's the one!"
I'm just not used to such a high contrast between the darker thread (spar, no color preserver) and a lighter blank.
So, I was trying to think what vintage rods I could search-out in our forum,
that have similarly-hued blanks, that I could look to for inspiration?
This Riffle blank color hovers somewhere between tan and olive.
It's very much a "middle" hue, neither especially dark or light.
Some have said this makes the blank compatible with *any* color you pick,
but for some reason I'm hesitant to pull the trigger.
I think that there are some Phillipsons are similar (tan Master series comes to mind...)
as well as the Orvis Golden Eagles. Certainly there are some Heddons.
And somewhat close are the Lamiglas Honeys.
Can anyone think of any others that I've not thought of?
