While Lami still has the glass Spring Creek blanks listed on their website, they aren't in the 2009 catalog. I believe the catalog. The new Spring Creek line is made from high modulus graphite. If you call around to the rod supply vendors, you might get lucky and find a company that still has a couple of glass Spring Creek blanks in stock.

If you want an 8 foot, 3 piece, 4/5 weight rod blank, your best bets are the Lamiglas Honey, a McFarland blank, or a Steffen blank (listed in approximate order from slower to quicker). Lami blanks are readily available. You should call Mark Steffen and Mike McFarland about availability and delivery for their blanks. Interestingly, there isn't a lot of price difference, with the Lami at $133, Steffen at $155, and McFarland at $185.

If you are willing to consider an 8 foot, 2 piece blank there are additional options. The two piece Lami Honey is reputed to be a little quicker and it is definitely less expensive ($77). There are still some Diamondglass 8 foot, 2 piece, 4 weight blanks ($110, only available at Hook&Hackle). I have this one as a factory rod and I happily fish it with 4 and 5 weight lines, depending on the conditions. The Dglass is quicker than the other rod blanks I've listed. Tom Morgan is developing a new line of glass blanks that he hopes will be available soon. He has both an 8 foot, 4 weight and an 8 foot, 5 weight in the lineup. These should have a look and feel all their own. They will retail for $295.
