This pattern is very successful in the very beginning of Trout season. The pattern has taken numerous fish for me. Yes the fly is a size 8, would you expect
anything less from me at this point.

Fontinalis, that fly is too pretty for words...whether it catches fish or not. I'm going to give this a try and see what I come up with. Thanks.

Hi Everyone:
I got home last night from a week long fishing and camping trip in the Catskills for bug week. This fly called the Romaine was a proven winner and fish catcher all week. The fly worked at night and then proven itself on the Beaverkill and four different spots on the Willowemoc and Beaver kill during the day. I would say I took about 26 fish on this fly. I wanted to report back on this fly and thought you might find this information useful. I will say this fly really surprised me the way it worked extremely well in the Catskills. nice!i recently did a three day camping /fishing trip for the PA fly fish forum jam,and i came back from that completely refreshed for city life.a size ten
partridge and yellow reigned supreme there(coburn pa).
so what size did you fish this in?an eight? |
