Check this out - Ebay auction for Phillipson Deluxe baitcaster
That's an impressive price for that rod, or at least surprising.

I know, I constantly watching, along with fly rods, spinning rods. The fenwicks are still going for some descent funds, along with the other big name brand
spinning rods.

Cornmuse, This has been going on for a number of years now. Phillipson casting rods carry heavy significance for the wealthy Japanese angler. Two or three of
these individuals will engage in a urinating contest toward the end of an auction. Amusing. Any example in nice condition is sure to bring over $500 and WILL
leave the country. I don't much like that, but it is the way of things.

that was actually a good buy for this rod - they usually sell for around $1000
the rods are never obsolete - the marketing is.

yes and its a down market right now I sold that Johnson Profile a while back, while I didnt have alot into it and made a few pennies, I still have its clone
here, selling two I think was a wrong move from this seller. One at a time and see how the market runs. Its a cool market right now, some rods run up, but even
they seem to be mostly a bit below previous prices. It will be fun to put up the other one I have when we get out of this current situation (economy and
unimployeement) and see what it brings then.

Got a Orvis Fullflex (a Phillipson with nickel silver ferrules) spinning rod this summer cheap because the finish was scratched up pretty bad. Fortunately the
ferrules and guides were in great shape. After a repaint and a rewrap it is a very sweet rod for smallmouth in the Delaware River. Casts light to heavy lures
and is very sensitive. It's my first Phillipson spinning rod, so I now see why people like them so much.
