Over the weekend Jeff ( Wabash1967) Edward ( Yuma3012) and Curtis (bassackwards) met up and fished the upper Pedernales River after a morning on the Guad near Kerrville Texas. Few fish this stream and even fewer know where legal crossings are to wade. So far I've been lucky and had guidance from a local fly shop owner Martin Purch to the best spots. The upper stretch of the river holds tons of LMB, guads, redbreasts, cats, and suckers.

There were lots of these: nature painted the Guads with amazing camo to hide them from predators
Stretch after stretch we encountered holes like thses filled with still water and current filled seams

Although "the Perd" is not known for its clear water, here springs rise from the aquifer to create gin clear flows:
We all agreed that we'll return for another time. After all there's fish like these:
