I remember the posting you are talking about. It was very well done. As I recall they said the 7 ft 3 pc 3 wt was a willowy rod that was very nice for small waters, with a deeper flex and smoother cast within its range. The writer described the 7 1/2 ft 3 wt 2 pc as more of a 4, I believe I remember but each of the guys who cast them all said if they had to pick one, they would pick the 2 pc which was a bit faster...but, you already have your 7 ft 4 wt which may replicate that action. Your intuition to get the 7 ft 3pc 3 wt might better serve you to broaden the spectrum of what you have. If the small coastal cutts are in streams not requiring long casts, or don't draw huge fish, you may find the softer rod to be a welcome addition.

Then there's always the solution to buy them all. You could always sell the one you like lease...yeah, right--ha ha. But, you could pretend that is what you would do :-)
