Mark,
I love the way your watercolor combines realism with impressionism. I'm not sure if that is the right way to put it, since I have no artistic ability myself, but you really seem to have a creative eye and talent, with an obvious real appreciation of nature. Very nice! Tom

Hey friends,
I really appreciate all the kind words... I have a lot of fun doing those paintings, especially when the fishing is slow in the winter time...thus I put all the doddling and paintings together in the blog for friends. A little background, I think the reason Marshall (Midcurrent) found me is because the facebook, the fiberglassmanifesto.com built by Cameron in facebook. Thanks Cameron. And I think Marshall he want something different... maybe a little bit homestyle?! like your neighbor's drawings... so he put me up front.... I am humbled! And I know my works is "home style" ... different than the real masters in the Midcurrent. I really appreciate all the kind words and friends that visit my little site. Hope I will keep doodling and posting... I tried to upload big format of my paintings there, so if you have any need or like it. Just download it and use whatever you want. Another note, if You noticed some of my earlier works here, you will see how my works "get progressived" through friends' encouragement from this website. I appreciated that whole heartly. Maybe we will put this thread aside... I think I get too much credits and attentions than what I should lately... @@ Tom, yes, I think I understand your description and thank you for the note. I like some parts has detail, and some parts provide room for imaginations. (Not sure if I achieve that yet...) But it is really nice to have something not clearly defined... and it really save some time and pigments too.... (I am actually a very lazy illustrator... I only have 2-3 hours patience for one painting @@) |

Mark...thanks for the T.F.M. mention...but I am more than sure Marshall saw your work many other places first. Congrats on the feature on Midcurrent.com. My
take on Mark's art work is that he does have a neat mix of "realism and impressionism" and what makes his paintings so striking is that he always
gets the head of the fish right and their eyes look alive. Then their bodies are in a wash of dabbled colors and they just look right.
I now have a half dozen original Yuhina's...with three of them framed. One at the office...
...and two in Finn's bedroom...
