I haven't provide a fishing report for awhile... I was chasing striper run lately and have some success... but due to the fact that I didn't have any big glass for striper...so I decided just fish quietly with underground graphite rods
... Well, fortune sometimes falls on me. Yesterday evening, I received a Fenwick 909 (9wt 9 feet) from our member Duff. Thank you Duff! What a
beautiful rod and a killer deal! I thought, hmmm...It's about time to go glass... this rod is very beautiful and feel so great when I test cast it
impatiently in my front yard. It takes 5wt line and 8 weight line both very well. I decided to sneak out today and give it a test drive.
The river is still blown out, but it has ceased a little bit... Driving in the early morning and I truly enjoy the dark road and the bird chirp...here is some photos...
I have my lucky box with a lucky decal... I need a classic reel I know... I am saving the money now...
There are a lot of "meat" in the box, some for striper, some for bluegill...
A few cast later... I feel the fish god, and he really put a good surprise on me, on the rod.
I am so surprised that this rod handled the "beefy" fish so well...just like Duff described to me. It's really a awesome feel that the fish is
handled under a 9wt glass...It's a feel of "chewy and fluid".
