I refinished a 6'6" Sears rod I got from Pearow. The pix are over on the UL forum under Fishing Reports, Jerry's Pond. I will try to get them
posted over here as well. First glass redo for me. Don

The other rod is a 6611 cane built on a Mark Fitch blank. The glass casts a lot farther, but the cane is about a 4 weight, and the Sears a 6. The original 5
snake guides [snake guide as stripper] were replaced with 7 snakes and the boat guide stripper in the picture. I did not attempt to touch up the decal. It was
in pretty fair condition so I retained it, covering it with multiple coats of Arm-R-Seal to preserve it. The grip was sized down and sealed. Thanks Pearow for
selling me the factory rod. Don

Nice looking rod, in a configuration more useful than most people think.
Now, exactly where is this pond? If fish like that were handy to me, I think my trips to the mountains would get severly curtailed. Bob |

Very nice rebuild that keeps the character of the original but undoubtedly improves its performance.
I'd wondered about the utility of a 6'6" rod until I got one--Wonderod in my case--and they do quite well.

Those bluegill are big, even by Texas standards and will take some line. They also jump clear of the water, something I have never seen before. The location is
a closely held secret. I fish cane under 7' for the most part, so I am quite pleased with the 6'6" Sears. That is a Martin MG3, by the way. Don
