Anyone have any experience with these? Price doesn't seem too bad and I've read some good reviews of the rods. I'm looking at either the Bugati or
Topwater lines. Any recomendations on them would be appreciated. http://www.albrightflyfish.com/fly-reels.html Wasn't sure where to post this, not a rod or a classic

Welcome to the Fiberglass Flyrodders! I haven't handled an Albright reel, nor do I know anything about them beyond the link you gave. But at $30, the Topwater reel is a good deal if it's a good reel. The same could be said about the Bugati, although large arbor reels aren't my favorites. Hopefully someone will have some information for you. Tom |

The TW 3/4 is a click pawl, the larger ones are disc. The 3/4 looks like a clone of the korean martin classics. Mine is almost as smooth as my hardy (go
figure).
I have no experience with the bugattis. |

I have a Topwater 3/4, it's not a bad little reel. I also have a Bugati for #7/8 line and I really like it a lot, been thinking about getting a smaller
one, it's smooth and the drag appears to be very nice. I remember one person seemed to have a problem with the Bugati drag, they believed it
"stuck" on certain parts of the rotation- but I never had a problem with mine.

The Topwater reminds me of the Browning Strata MZ 34 reel (made by Martin). But the Topwater is available for purchase at a very nice price. Good find guys! Tom |

Welcome to the board, Pigseye! It's a fun place. But go ahead and hide your wallet. Or at least, try not to look at the pretty pictures!
