    Got out last weekend and enjoyed eastern Washington and some
fishing. Carpin was slow, the water cold, the light flat, fish lethargic, but fish were caught and a good time was had by all. I'm using a FR2000 and a
1495, Fisherofsmallstreams is using a beautiful FF80 and a 1495.5. Starting with the first carp for me of '09. Forgive the "Bandit" look, I am
not a sun worshipper. And Madi-Sue rides along most of the time I'm carp fishing, wading in knee deep water  is not her strong suite.

We had a GREAT time! Thanks Keith for posting the photos, there's nothing like carp on a fiberglass rod. I've got some 'new' carp flies to try
out, I'll be headed back there soon just to see if they work. This is fun fishing, like saltwater flats fishing. Walk and stalk and casting to individual
fish. You've gotta be stealthy and deliberate to catch these guys and Keith is a master! It's very intense and at the end of the day you are tired just
from staying so focused all day long. But what fun! Thanks Keith! Tom

Forgot to point out that Madi-Sue is busy chewing on that carp's tail in the last photo.....good thing she is running out of teeth.
