Any info on the subject rod would be appreciated. It's an 8 footer.

I got nuthin', but I really like the name of the rod! I winder if it was a promo for the cigarette, or just a great name for a fishing rod. Hope someone
knows.

my first guess was Heddon, SOuth Bend, or H-I because they made so many of the private label rods way back when.

I believe your rod is an HI. I have an 8 ½ foot glass HI rod that I am pretty sure said "Lucky Strike" before the label disappeared when I added a hook keeper ( it didn't come with one). Bottom-end rods, but with good blanks. Is yours medium-brown color with a rather minimal number of guides? Mine uses a snake guide in place of a stripper guide and the cork is not first-rate. I know HI made Lucky Strikes in 7 ½ foot length - saw one at a fishing show a few years ago. |

Thanks Bunk40.
The rod is not mine. I'm attempting to garner some info on it for another. The rod is constructed with a brown blank, black wraps tipped white/red, and snake guide type stripper. He agrees the rod is probably not worth much, but has great sentimental value as it was his dad's panfish rod. Bob Go Heels!!! |
