I stripped an early 1970's era Fenwick 6-foot, 5-weight down to the blank and refinished, ending with several dips in spar varnish. The blank is beautiful
- - perfect in fact - - except that the tip section is noticeably lighter colored (raw sienna) than the butt section (light burnt sienna). Big deal? Who
knows? But, out of curiosity, is there anything that can be done to darken the tip section slightly to make it more compatible with the butt? I'm more
likely to undertake a fail-safe, low-tech solution than something drastic. Although right now I'm leaning towards doing nothing, even though the color
difference is quite obvious. Thanks.
