Well, I've been waiting a while to have a day to go fishing and with spring break this was the week. The Lake was picking up and shore anglers had been
doing quite good. Of course day before I can get out a front blows in and we're back to the windy days of Nevada. Rather than mope about it I figured lets
go give it a try. Three hours on the lake this morning with my wife. Lots of fun, no fish. Here are some pics.
This is Hemenway Beach and Point. There's a shelf just off shore and when things are right the fish hang of the ledge. Later on the fish come into the shallows. The wind was around 14 steady gusting to 18. I could just reach the shelf casting into the wind.
Here's the rod. The 9' Fisher I built up last fall. First time I had the right line on cast great. The spot was tough with the headwind and sloping land just behind me.
A little too much back cast here.
Oh yeah, with the wind and the land behind I did have a couple oh crap moments.
Here's the cove where we saw a carp leap, otherwise everything must have gone deep.
Thats it, not much to report other than some wind and some flailing about. Hope to get out again next week.
